ARM Processor
Advanced RISC Machine - an energy-efficient processor architecture used in Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4) and Windows ARM devices (Snapdragon). Traditional tuning software requires drivers to work on ARM.
CAN Bus
Controller Area Network (CAN) is a communication protocol that allows ECUs and devices in a vehicle to communicate without a host computer. It's the standard for automotive diagnostics and tuning.
Driver (Software)
Software that enables an operating system to communicate with hardware devices. iCANDrivers provides custom USB CAN drivers that work on ARM processors.
ECU

OBD-II
On-Board Diagnostics version 2 - a standardized interface for vehicle diagnostics. Most vehicles from 1996+ have OBD-II ports, though Holley systems often use their own connectors.
Snapdragon
Qualcomm's ARM-based processors used in Windows ARM laptops like Surface Pro and ThinkPad. The Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus chips can run Holley EFI with proper drivers.
Tuning
The process of adjusting ECU parameters to optimize engine performance, fuel efficiency, or emissions. Holley EFI software provides visual tools for creating and modifying tunes.
USB CAN Adapter
A device that connects your computer to the vehicle's CAN bus network via USB. Holley provides USB CAN adapters with their EFI systems for laptop tuning.
Virtualization
Running an operating system inside another OS using software like Parallels, VMware Fusion, or UTM. Mac users run Windows 11 ARM in virtualization to use Holley EFI software.
